Tyler's Basketball Game

A month or so ago we signed Tyler up for basketball. He said he didn't care where he played at he just wanted to play. We signed him up at the Community Life Center which happens to be where we started going to church at. The only mistake we made is that he only plays teams within the church. We thought he would play other church teams which isn't the case. His team is a team of lets just say "scrappy players". The team has 8th,9th and I think 10th graders on it. Tyler is by far one of the better players. (After the 1st game the refs told Vic that Tyler shouldn't be playing there because he is a lot better then the kids out on the court and you can tell he has a few years under his belt unlike some of the other kids playing). This team can be a frustrating team seeing as how it is usually Vic, myself and one other guy yelling out what to do with the ball or where to go. It is a whole different level of playing for Tyler not a whole lot of competition but there are a few good players. As you watch this team you wonder if they have even won a game. Somehow this team is able to pull of the "W". They are now 3-0.

Last night was their 3rd game and it was against a team they have already played. It was close the 1st time they played them but this time it should of been a blow out. At the half the score was 12-5 (Tyler's team was up) and somehow in the 3rd quarter they came back and were up when the 3rd quarter ended. Tyler was back in the 4th quarter and they were still down. There were only a few seconds left on the clock and Tyler hit a jumper to tie the game!!!! They ended up sending the game into overtime.

In overtime the other team didn't score at all and they out scored them by 12 points. The final score was 33-21. Tyler had 19 points, 2 assists, 3 rebounds, 5 steals and 2 blocked shots. He had a great game!!! He still needs to work on a couple things but there is always room for improvement right??
