A Day In the Life With The Claudio's: Our First Florida Visitors

This was a very busy week and weekend for us. All week we were keeping a very close eye on Hurricane Gustav. We were due to have our 1st Florida visitors come and were hoping the hurricane wouldn't prevent that from happening. We were lucky and it didn't!!! Vic's mom, sister, her boyfriend Marcio and his cousin Antonio came for a visit. They arrived on Saturday and left on Monday. The weather was beautiful on Saturday. It was sunny and very hot!!! I of course forgot my camera to take pictures that day. We took them to Pensacola Beach and they all loved it there. There was also a Jamaican Festival going on so we checked that out as well.

Holden had a soccer tournament all weekend in Pace. That was a little bit of a damper with having visitors and all. Grandma got to see Holden play 1 game and in that game he scored 3 goals!!!! His team won the tournament!

Sunday while Vic took Holden, Colsen and Tate to the soccer game I took everyone else and showed them around the area. We ended up going to Okaloosa Island Beach. Like Pensacola they have a boardwalk where you can eat, drink or shop. The weather on Sunday wasn't the best. It had rained some and was cloudy all day. That didn't stop us from going to the beach. The waves were high and the water was choppy. It was a great day for surfers and to get the boogie boards out.

So as Gustav was making his way into the Gulf of Mexico we were enjoying the waves he was pushing this way. We had a great weekend and can't wait to have more visitors.
