Even though Hurricane Ike is going to miss us. Thankfully!!! He is pushing a lot of water our way. The waves have been anywhere from 20 to 3 ft high!! It has been double red flag at the beach (meaning no one is allowed in the water). Last night we went to Pensacola Beach to check out the waves. They were big and strong. They were crashing over the end of the pier. We of course ended up getting wet and we couldn't keep Tate out of the water. We almost lost him twice. Holden accidentally ran into him he fell in the water and then a wave came up and knocked him over. He doesn't care how rough the water is the boy just loves to be in the ocean. Anyways, we got some photos. The ones taken during the day are from Navarre Beach. Vic, Tate and I went and checked those waves out after we dropped Colsen off at preschool this morning. The waves that we have seen in the last 2 days are a lot bigger and stronger then the ones from Hurricane Gustav was pushing in and he was a lot closer then Ike is. Vic said he heard thru some of the locals that they haven't seen waves this big since Hurricane Katrina hit the Gulf Coast.
PS: The photos taken at night that kind of look like snow or rain on the lens is actually sand! Colsen kept saying that the sand was biting him. Ha ha!
